intro

Hello everyone and welcome to my rules page. My name is Lumina, I'm 23 years old and I live in the Netherlands (GMT+1).

I made this blog because I have a ton of muses wandering around in my head asking for attention I can't give them on my own. I'll be explaining a few things in the rules below to facilitate everyone's stay and interactions.

Please keep in mind I have a job and work nearly every day so I won't always be here, and when I am here, I'm slow as a turtle so replies may take a while.

If you're nervous about RP'ing with a multimuse blog like this one, don't worry! I've done my best to make everything as organised and clear as possible.

I hope we'll all get along and have a lot of fun~!

the tag system

Okay, for starters I'd like to explain my way of tagging things!

Tagging can be a pain and I know not everyone always does it but having gotten the complaint that multimuses are confusing I've done my utmost to keep things orderly and sorted for everyone's browsing convenience!

On my tags page you'll find the blog's navigation, my personal tags as well as the tags per fandom. There's a couple so keep on scrolling! This page also frequently isn't up to date, as I am quick to add fandoms to my muse page, but tend to forget to update the tags page, my bad!

If you're looking for tags regarding specific muses, those have been moved to the muses' bios for browsing convenience, because lemme tell ya the tags page was long as hell before and a bitch to scroll through!

For any fandom I tag general posts, asks/questions, headcanons, starters an au's. The latter two tags are generally pretty empty because I'm quick to set up verse tags for au's, so this might just end up filled with au ideas instead, there's a thought…

Muses get tagged with interactions, appearance, musings, aesthetic, character traits and headcanons. Depending on the type of muse and the posts that I come across, the last couple tags are pretty sparse too.

If you ever click on a tag that takes you to a not found page, it's not because the tag is broken, it just hasn't been filled yet!

following, selectivity & formatting

Please know that I am not mutuals only!

I will rp with you regardless of us being mutuals. In fact, to keep my dash clean I don't always follow back. That's absolutely nothing against you, it's just to keep my dash clean and uncluttered. If I follow you first however, it means I definitely want to interact!!

In order to break the ice and make getting started easier, I will send you an IM to thank you for the follow and to see who you'd be interested in interacting with. If I haven't sent you such a message it's because Tumblr is, as ever, a malfunctioning website at best and doesn't always notify me of new followers.

I won't always be interested in interacting but feel free to send me a message if you feel like I missed you, I'm always up for a chat.

As a little extra note, if I'm seeing consistent spelling errors that hamper the flow of the writing, or it's straight up unreadable I'll be more likely to turn down writing with you. It really throws me off when I run into writing that just doesn't make any grammatical sense and it's annoying replying to threads where I'm constantly mentally correcting the other person's writing just to be able to answer…

That being said, a few spelling errors here and there, a skipped key or dyslexia are not a problem! Shit happens to us all and I think most of my partners have already figured out my keyboard is quite broken and likes to skip a ton of keys while I'm writing, so sometimes I'm missing a letter without having noticed as well!

This selectivity also applies to over-styled writing. Too much spacing, coloured text etc makes it very difficult for me to read a reply, I end up straining just to make sense of it and it's a pretty big turn off for me if I have to cause myself a headache, y'know? If you style your blog like that it's fine, but I'll ask that you tone it down a little when writing with me. Personally, I style my replies with single small text and bold speech but I don't need you to match my style as long as I can read the reply.

I generally write at least one paragraph and average 3 to 5 paras per reply depending on how high my muse is. I prefer it over oneliners and short things just because there's so much more opportunity to explore and oneliners sorta shut down my creativity, so I won't be replying to those.

On the flip side I have replied to one-liner starters with several paragraphs before so like, you've been warned~

plotting and interactions

I'm a writer with a preference for plotting! What that means is that I wanna know al the things! I'm gonna ambush you with questions about which muses you'd like to interact with, boop back which of yours I'm interested in if you're a fellow multimuse and then go on to figure out at least one default character match.

What this means is that I'll default to a set of characters that I'll use to send asks with, once I know how they'd match together. The odds of me sending people asks when I'm active on the dash skyrocket when I don't have to scour through muse lists (mine included, I can't remember all my kids ngl—) in order to know what to send and with who. this includes me writing my own lines rather than using a meme, since sometimes that just works better.

Generally, nothing turns me off more than a persistent reply of 'oh anyone's fine!'. It's generally the first thing anyone tells me when I ask and I get that, but when I start wheedling for a little more detail please give me some? Because otherwise I'm just going to default to nobody rather than pick for you.

On that note: please don't presume I know your character. Trust me, I don't. Even if it's a canon character from a fandom I also write in, I will not assume you write your muse true to canon, because every portrayal is unique and that's what I love about this hobby in the first place, the ability to create new things! This is also why I come bother y'all in your IMs, I wanna know who your character is and how they'd react to mine in order to be able to kick off interactions and send asks.

I very much encourage people to come talk to me about my muses and how I write them as well! I love gushing about my children and often times, even just getting to talk about them helps me develop my take on them. I'm a huge sucker for picking up new muses but generally slow to figure out what makes my version of them tick, it's why I take forever writing bios, whoops!

ask continuations

— important —

You've likely seen me mention this somewhere by now, but I perpetually have a fuckton of drafts in my box to deal with, so because of this, I've decided to establish this rule and save myself an added workload . So, please please please ask me if it's okay to continue an ask as a thread! This is super important and I will ignore your continuation if you neglected to ask me first!

If I see an ask will likely not go anywhere interesting and will just result in a stagnated thread, I'll say no unless you can convince me otherwise. If I have too many threads to deal with atm, I'll say no as well.

However if it seems like a continued thread would be interesting and fun then there's a good chance I'll say yes even if I'm drowning in drafts. Actually, if that's the case I'm likely to say yes just because you were nice enough to remember to ask me first!

I always answer asks in a clean post, but that's not a free pass to continue the ask. If I'm down to continue it though, reblogging the post and removing the banner is perfectly fine.

shipping

Alright, first and foremost, I am absolute shipping trash. You wanna turn our thread into a shippy? Chances are I've been thinking about it myself! I'm very open to these things.

However! Just because I'm complete shipping trash and will likely ship something within a couple posts of interaction, that doesn't mean I only write the shippy! I love love love enemy threads. Let them hate each other, let them fight, let them be forced to work together to get out of something nasty! All that good stuff~ (and yes I'll ship it anyway xD)

What's not okay when it comes to the shippy however, is forcing a ship! Just because I'm very likely to already ship the thing, doesn't mean I always do. Please ask me first and if I'm not okay with shipping the thing, don't push or force the issue.

nsfw & tagging

NSFW content such as violence and whatnot will be present on this blog! Character death is a no-no however, so let's not go there. Anything else is generally fine, as long as we talk about it beforehand and know each other's limits and keep within our comfort zones.

As for the smut side of NSFW, yeah that'll probably happen too, depending on the muse in question, their taste, and their morals (or lack thereof). This means you may see things you don't agree with in terms of ships or behaviour. That's normal, a lot of my muses are assholes for a reason. (No, not because I am one, but because it's fun as hell to write!)

All smut and suggestive posts will be tagged #welcome to sin city, and all suggestive memes will be tagged with #prompts • explicit so if you don't wanna see those, block the tags! Easy peasy~ That being said I don't register the majority of things as triggers and therefore am absolute shite at tagging them. I'm constantly like wait is this a thing, do I need to tag that??

This is why I have a general tag for dubious content. If I'm questioning whether I should tag a tw or cw? I'll tag #questionable content instead. So if you don't wanna see things like drug mention, alcohol mention, consumption of various substances etc, block the tag!

A little add-on to this, now that I'm back to writing Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss content, I consider the fandom tags to be their own trigger warning, and will only append #questionable content when it gets more graphic than usual. Otherwise I'd end up tagging every other post…

If I've forgotten to append one of these tags to a post, just shoot me a message, I'm human and I forget stuff all the time!

I'm mentioning blocking the tags or giving me a boop if I forget to tag because of the fact that I will not be using the readmore function on tumblr. It's annoying, and it makes replying to threads a pain cause then I can't see the former replies. You wanna enjoy my smut and dark threads? Have at them! If not, just block the tags.

godmodding and character control

Obviously, these things won't be accepted. Assuming a character will react in some way or another during longer RP's such as multi-para or novella length is acceptable, things like that happen.

What I won't accept is if it happens often that my muses can't deflect or dodge blows simply because the other person said so. My muses have their own strengths and weaknesses and they can fight back. If you aren't sure about a reply you're going to write and you think you might be violating this rule, send me an ask or an IM about it and I'll let you know if I'm okay with it or not.

I can accept that some muses are more powerful than others, sometimes so much that my muses could be near powerless before them and I accept that if I can feel that the power difference is justified. If it isn't, then I will let you know that I'm not okay with it.

drama

I hate drama. Plain and simple. You have a problem with another person? Please keep it off the dash. If I'm following a blog that has post upon post upon post doing nothing else but complaining about this or that, chances are I'll unfollow you. It's nothing personal and it doesn't mean we can't RP anymore but I won't have my dash drenched in negativity.

I'd also like to ask that if you have a problem with me, I've broken one of your rules or done something else that bothers you please come talk to me. Half the time there's a big chance I honestly didn't notice and I'd prefer to talk things out rather than get hate or get blocked and not know why.

original characters

If you haven't seen them yet, I have a ton of OCs and you should actually go check em out right now!! Ahem, anyway...

Considering I have my own OCs I'm fairly open to rping with your OCs as well. Have one? Hit me up!

However, I won't rp with OCs who do not have a bio and rules page available. That's for my comfort mostly, but I prefer to have an idea of what to expect, rather than be tossed in blindly. If you have a short description you could send me that, but the about page is preferred.

This being said, if I can't see us interacting, I'll probably decline to rp. Now don't feel left out, this applies to canon characters as well.

the end

And with that, the rules are over! Thank you so much for making it all the way down here, you deserve a cookie! And come hit me up for some rp goodness, I don't bite~!
